An affordable, true Hawaiian experience awaits you in Puna! Pahoa has many dining experiences and shops. A day is well spent wandering the Red Road to the new black sand beach at Kalapana and back to picnic at recently renovated Issac Hale Beach Park. You may choose to relax at Hawaiian Retreat and enjoy our extensive library. You will receieve a fresh fruit basket, and we are always happy to give you a tour of our organic farm and fruit stand! We always have fresh coconuts available and our bananas and papyas are the best you have ever tasted.
And if that is not enough, you can book a special farm to table meal with Janelle, gardener and chef here! Thoughtful and healthy foods…any choice of diet she can create a meal to remember! from $30/pp and children under 6 are free.
HOUSE RULES
we generate all our own power and store it in batteries. we have to ask you to conserve energy, especially overnight and in the early morning. Please never use a hairdryer or other high voltage devices at Hawaiian Retreat. Please turn off lights and do not leave fans on all day and night. We are unable to accept overnight medical devices. we appreciate your understanding and consideration while visiting Hawaiian Retreat.
Internet is available to all at the Main Lodge, where we have a router….9am to 9pm. We will give you the code. Each cottage has an informational booklet, with local maps and things to do near by.
The adventure cottages, Nemaste and Candlelight have no power in the cabin. power is available at the farm central or at the Main Lodge, next door. We provide flashlights and tea candles in these cottages.
